We love Law!

While Kinetics works across several industries, from retail to manufacturing, distribution to design, and many amazing not-for-profit organisations,  it is professional services and especially legal that are our largest sector.

We really understand IT for mid-size law firms – the software, platforms, services and especially the wider community. After all, we’ve been part of it for over 25 years!

That’s why Kinetics was at Lawfest in September, and wow, it was incredible.
Firstly, a huge shout out to all our friends, both from client side, and the partner-side.

We LOVE the legal community.

We’re excited at the advances in technology to help law firms be more efficient, and to add choice.

In addition to some of the proven Practice Management and Document applications, there is a range of emerging application options and specialist solutions.

The choice is extraordinary and creates a unique opportunity for firms to radically improve collaboration and mobility.

Automation and process efficiency tools can help firms cope with resourcing challenges and creating competitive advantages.

We’re looking forward to collaborating with clients, and if required, providing any guidance or support with the transformation possibilities presented.

But it isn’t all good news.

The cyber landscape is a real concern and we learned about law firms being targeted. It is clear that lawyers are regarded as an opportunity.

Perhaps this is because they are so busy they can overlook some of those dodgy emails, or because they may be perceived as not being IT literate, or maybe it’s just because hackers think lawyers are rich pickings? The lesson is that every firm needs to be increasing their cyber security footprint. What was adequate or reasonable even a year ago is being superseded by new strategies and technologies to protect firms for the latest threats. It is why we are just launching an updated KARE for Security ‘3’ package designed for businesses that are primarily cloud based to help them protect their data assets.

The cloud is now the way for tomorrow’s law firms, from their practice management and trust accounts to their document management and workflow management and there is an overwhelming choice of incredible technologies available to the law fraternity.
